Residential Tiles

What is a Generic Roof?

The building department does not mandate that a roofing contractor use brand name materials, only that the materials meet the minimum requirements of that municipality. Contractors often use the cheapest material they can find resulting in a cheap roof or (Generic Roof).

It is not our goal to design the cheapest roof. We hand pick all the materials used for each roofing application. We do not purchase materials based on price or back-end discounts we may receive from our suppliers. Instead, we choose the best materials available at the time based on quality and performance.

We are always looking to ensure a quality installation. We have many standard procedures in place that exceed lhe standard roofing code such as reinforcement of the valleys, high traffic areas, penetrations, crickets, and flashing replacements to name a few. We understand spending a little extra time and money on the special materials and details can really make a difference to the life of the roof system.

Tips for Maintaining Your Roof

Tips for Maintaining Your Roof

Now that we understand the importance of roof maintenance let's discuss some tips for keeping your roof in top condition.

1. Regular Inspections:

It's essential to inspect your roof at least twice a year, preferably in the fall and spring. Look for any signs of damage such as missing or damaged shingles, cracked caulk, or rusted flashing.

2. Keep Gutters Clean:

Clogged gutters can cause water to pool on your roof, leading to damage and leaks. Make sure to clean your gutters regularly to prevent this issue.

3. Trim Trees:

Overhanging tree branches can cause damage to your roof, especially during storms. Make sure to trim any branches that are close to or touching your roof.
